General Statement

NFST is committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains how and why we use your personal data to make sure you remain informed and in control of your information. This Policy concerns all personal data that is requested, stored, retained, and used by the NFST in line with providing its products, services, and digital platforms. NFST carries out due diligence in this regard and ensures that they comply with requirements of the Data Protection Act 2018 and GDPR Act 2018. NFST are diligent in ensuring unauthorised access or unlawful use of any members' personal data.

What Information We Collect

NFST only request personal data from members on initial registration, renewal and/or through marketing activities. The information we will require that is necessary for the purposes of membership is: full name, title, address, date of birth, telephone number, email address, type of membership and payment details. We require these details to verify a member's identity and for sending information in meeting NFST aims and objectives and membership requirements.

We will from time to time, analyse your personal data to build a profile which helps us decide which of our communications you might be interested in. We may collect information from social media where you have given us permission to do so, or if you post on one of our social media pages. We may also use other organisations to help us conduct research and analysis on personal data and this can result in new personal data being created.

Storage and Retention of Personal Data

We will only use and store information for as long as it is needed for the purposes it was collected for. How long we keep information depends on the information and what it's used for. For example, if you ask us not to send you marketing emails, we will stop storing your emails for marketing purposes (though we'll keep a record of your preference not to be emailed). We annually review and at other times, what information we hold and delete what is no longer required.

We use a variety of physical and technical methods to keep your data safe and to prevent unauthorised access or sharing of your personal information. Electronic data and databases are stored on secure computer systems, and we control who has access to information using both physical and electronic means. Our Board Members receive data protection training, and we have a set of detailed data protection procedures which personnel are required to follow when handling personal data.

We will never sell your personal data.

Third Parties

We may share personal data with other organisations who provide us with services. For example, we may use an IT supplier to process personal data. However, these activities will be carried out under contracts which have strict requirements to keep your information confidential and secure.

Opt Out

You may opt out of receiving information from the NFST by emailing . Please note if you do opt out, you will not receive information to keep you informed of matters affecting NFST or your membership, i.e., AGMs, meet-ups, update of card details.

Change of Circumstances

If members change their details, they can update their record by emailing . We will also do an audit, annually, of this information and your membership.

Access to Information We Hold

All members have the right to access the information that NFST hold about them. If you wish to have access to your information, please do this via email , and the information will be provided to you within 30 days. You can also request that we delete any data we hold on your membership, but we will also do an audit of this annually.

NFST use Cookies for their website functions and to improve the website accessibility. All electronic forms that request financial data will use secure web technology to encrypt the data between your web browsers and our computers. If you use a credit card, we will pass your credit card details securely to our payment provider.

Changes to This Policy

NFST ensures that they meet the required regulation and highest standards for this Policy. This Policy will be reviewed annually, or when there are any internal changes or external regulation changes, therefore it is recommended that this page is checked periodically.
